Department Profile

The college was established in 1992, the department of Economics was introduced in the same year. The course was than three years degree course. In 2013 the course has been gone as Semester. In 2019,again the Gauhati University accept the CBCS course. By rule college also accept the CBCS course and continuing till date. Initially major course was not introduced in the department, but in 2013 the department start the major course having only one student. The University permitted the course in the year 2020. The present era is the era of globalisation. And quality education is necessary for the student to fit themselves to compete in the global environment. With this end in mind myself being the department forwarded with specific vision and mission of the course. MISSON: •To acquaint the students with various economic concepts and principles of Economics •To encourage the Students in solving the various economic problems •To make the Students aware with the current issues of Indian Economy along with the world Economy •To make the Students more competitive and fit for employment VISON: •Provide excellence and value based education
